help with vnc

Hi All,

OK. I've got vnc server running on my desktop G4. I've tried both "OSXvnc" and "Share my desktop" and can't seem to get either to work. From my powerbook, connecting through a base station, I'm using VNCThing. I enter the IP address and port of the G4, enter the password I set up, and it says the server could not be found. But when I type the desktop's IP in a browser, the powerbook finds my web server ok. So I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Check your firewall on your desktop G4 in System Preferences | Sharing - you need to allow the port so your PB can connect to your desktop G4 ... you likely already have port 80 open for your webserver. I think the port is 5900.
