I tried to update Safari--now when I get on certain websites the internet crashed; I was able to use Firefox but my brother tried to fix Safari and it is still the same but now Firefox won't even pull up!
 
Is this on a Mac or a PC running Windows? Specifics on your computer would also help very much.
 
Uninstall both browsers and reinstall the one you prefer to use. I recommend Firefox.

Also, next time you have a question, please type at least part of your question in the subject or a term that has to do with your issue... you are more likely to get visitors to your question if you do.

This is misleading. There is absolutely no conflict between Safari and Firefox. I often have both browsers open simultaneously so that I can copy and paste between the two. Even though you may use another browser almost exclusively, you should still have Safari installed. Safari is the default MacOS X utility for administering web browsers.
 
sorry you were mislead... uninstall and reinstall both of them if you prefer. Just trying to help and this should fix your problems in both browsers.
