Hewlett Packard Printer Driver not installed error

I have just bought a Hp1410 printer (after my newCanon Mp110 failed to install).

I installed the software on my G3 using OSX 10.2.8

There were no problems installing but when I go to print manager and drop down the USB menu, I see the 1410 listed but a message to the right reads "driver not installed".
Can anyone help me before I put a pick axe through the screen and go and buy a typewriter.

Try repairing permissions (Disk Utility).

If that doesn't do it, try Print Center/Printer Setup Repair from www.fixamac.net.
