hey, hello, i'm new here

Boot Camp is what allows Intel-based Macintosh computers running Mac OS X 10.5 (aka "Leopard") to run Windows XP and Vista 32-bit in a dual-boot fashion. Because the Intel Macs use EFI for the hardware instead of BIOS as PCs do, Boot Camp allows operating systems like Windows to think they are being installed on a stock PC by "tricking" the operating system that the Mac has the old-fashioned BIOS. It also allows Windows to install on the GPT partitions that Mac OS X creates (usually PCs use a DOS-based partitioning scheme regardless of the filesystem used for Windows).
