Hidden Volumes?

I recently created a disc image using Toast but could not find the Disc Image when it had completed. Upon investigation I realised the Disc Image had been saved somewhere called 'Volumes'. Thing is I can't find Volumes anywhere even though I can select in Toast when asked where to save the Disc Image. Spotlight also fails to find Volumes or the Disc Image created.

Doea anyone have any idea what's going on please.

"Volumes" is an invisible folder OS X uses to store links to — you guessed it — volumes. Applications should never write files or folders directly into this folder, so this is a bug in Toast. Now on to the solution.

In the Finder, select Go menu -> Go To Folder... then type in "/Volumes" and hit OK. The invisible folder will now open in a regular Finder window, so just drag the file to your desktop or wherever you want it.
