After AT&T got back up and running they implemented a temp site that my web browsers automatically go to. Under OS X, I cannot go to any other website. No matter what I put in it sends me to this temp site www.attbi.....something, something.

Under OS 9, I can browse anywhere, though at first it automatically sent me to the said site.

Classic mode also forces me to the temp site.

Any thoughts? Thanks for any help.

Well, you have to follow those instructions twice, once in OS 9, once in OS X. They are two seperate OSes and each have seperate settings. That page is supposed to show up if you have the older gateway IP and computer IP through static or DHCP that you had with @Home.

To get a static IP back, you will have to contact AT&T and set something up (whee) after you get working agian. If you were dynamic, you just need to get it working again.

How?

Go to the Network pane under System Preferences. Make sure the Ethernet port is properly configured to use DHCP (if you don't have a NAT router) and leave the DNS fields blank (AT&Ts DHCP server tells the DHCP client, your machine, the DNS information). Applying the changes should get you a new IP from AT&T's gateway, and you will be ready to roll.

Since you can browse using OS 9, I will assume you have already done all this to OS 9. If you have any more questions, or can clarify the setup you currently have (just saying it doesn't work under OS X, but it does under OS 9 led me to believe a misconfiguration problem occured under OS X), just e-mail me or post here.
