I tried to find this topic using various combinations of keywords but had no luck.

I have a Mac Mini that runs both OS9 and OSX. I also have a G4 tower that ran OS9. I have only one monitor and keyboard, currently hooked up to my Mac Mini.

Is there a quick and easy way to plug the G4 into the mac mini and copy some data from the G4 onto the mac mini?

Connect the two Macs with an ethernet cable.

Fire up the G4 with monitor & KB and set it up for anonymous file sharing.
If memory serves, and it hasn't for years, that involves the Appletalk and
File sharing CPs.

Fire up the Mini with monitor & KB. Go to Network prefpane, select Loc
automatic, Show built-in ethernet, under Appletalk make a-talk active.

In the main Finder window, click the Network globe in the sidebar. The
G4 should show up. Link to it.

Thanks. The icon is showing up but it's asking for a username and password. It is not taking the name/password for my mac mini. Is it expecting the combination for the G4? If so, is there a way to disable this on the G4?
