How do I only lock the header in ms Word

Hi there, I know how to lock header and footer... But for a client I need to lock the header separately from the footer, e.g. the footer contains info that has to be altered by the enduser. Is there a way to make this possible? It drives me nuts. By the way I'm using a Mac and maybe this can only be done with macros under Windows. Thanks Olivier
