How do you move apps & home to new drive.

I bought a new drive and want to move all of my apps and directory to my new drive. Essentially I want to clone my current OS X system. OS X has a lot of hidden files and I also don't want to lose my application registrations and such. How do you do this in OS X

I am running 10.2.4

Copy the Applications folder.
Then Library and ~/Library. Most registrations and other supports etc are on those.
