Howdy
My roommate is complaing of high energy bills and one thing he was wondering about was my computer. I have a G3 350 B&W tower w/ OS 10.1 and a 21 inch monitor. Also have an external Zip and Speakers. But what i was wondering was how much energy does my computer use while its in sleep mode? I never shut it off, and i never thought it was a problem. Anyone know or know where i can get info on how much energy is used while the system is asleep?

Thanks

Go to apple's site and look up the specs. It's hard for me to understand why somebody would need help with this. Anyway, your monitor is probably the main energy consumer. I looked up the specs for you:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58228

Electrical requirements
Line voltage:90V to 264V AC
Frequency: 47 to 63 Hz,single phase
Power:180W (maximum) when operating; less than 30W in standby mode; less than 5W when computer is in energy-saver mode

Hope this helps,
Vanguard
