I just got a firewire CD-RW for my G4 and I've noticed that when you burn a CD in the Finder in OS X it copies the files to some location on the system drive temporarily before it lets you burn the disk.
I have 2 physical hard drives and have noticed that large file transfers from one drive to another usually happen WAY faster than copies from one drive to itself, as might be expected.
Anybody know of a setting/hack to make Finder change the drive where it stores the temporary pre-burn files? Then I could have it copy from the system drive to the second drive and that would make the burn process for backups for me a lot faster. I've looked around and can't find anything so far.
Thanks.
