How to connect to Broadband

I have an old Advent pc that's connected up to the internet by Wanadoo Broadband (Using a Copperjet modem, which isn't compatible with Apple). Now, I've just brought my iMac G5 home from uni and am completely at a loss as to how to connect it up. I haven't got that much knowledge of networking pc's, but surely there is a way of connecting the mac up to my existing account, without subscribing to another one. Is it just a case of buying a new Modem, or is it more complicated?

Any help will be most appreciated::love::
 
The normal way to do that is to buy a modem that has a standard ethernet output and a router (or wireless router), which acts the the single connection to the broadband ISP, and allows many computers to connect to the router to share the internet.
