how to cut large images in pieces?

is there a shareware that used to cut large images into pieces for mac os X, like Imagecutter in Pc?

I think there's a Photoshop Plug-In that will do that .. but I don't remember the name off hand ...

GraphicConverter has an option to split graphic files.
Unsolicited plug - GraphicConverter has to be one of the best shareware programs ever! For $35 US, you get an application that has been (accurately) described as a "poor man's PhotoShop." It can handle just about any graphics format, and can do lots of real neat stuff with them. And Thorsten Lemke (creator of GC) provides excellent user support!

Got to agree about GraphicConverter , a good program and fantastic support. Torsten responds quickly and he fixed a scripting bug I found the same day I reported it. I think Torsten's support is the best I have ever got on any software.

This is the program Apple should bundle as iPhoto !!!
