How to cut/paste from X into Aqua in ROOTED mode

I run X full screen in rooted mode. I select text with my mouse. The text is selected in the X buffer because the middle button will paste it in X.

Question: How do I paste it once I'm back in Aqua.

I know how to go the oher way. Cmd-c in Aqua, and middle button will paste it in X. Works great. The reverse is not true. I can't simply double click something, and then get back into Aqua and Cmd-v it. Cmd-v still holds the last thing copied IN Aqua.
