how to get a photo attachment into another app

Hello,
I feel like this has a simple solution but I'm at a loss:.... when I get a photo sent through the Mac mail and it arrives already opened, that's great. However, now I want to put that photo in a catalog in iView and I cannot figure out how to move, copy/paste, etc. the doggone photo. If it were in a file form, it'd be easy to move.
Could someone please tell me how to make these "opened" photos usable in other apps??Nothing I've tried has worked.

right click, "open with" ..

or control click, "open with"

- first move it to somewhere out of mail.app if you haven't done it already
 
Hi,
That's part of the problem. I can't move the thing either. When I right click or left click, all I get to come up is "copy" "font" "spelling". No option like "Open with".
I could move it to the Text Editor but then I can't do anything with it there.
This cannot be as hard as I'm making it, can it??? I'm using 10.2.1
