I having a problem with my LAN connection: ( i have a wireless DSL router (Belkin))

I put the machine to sleep at night, or it falls asleep, and in the morning i have no internet until i restart. What i am looking for is a little app to show me the connection status of my dsl & if possible a solution to me losing the connection.

You will need to use the webinterface of your router for this. I don't know of any remote tool for router software. However, why not tell the router to reconnect on request and disconnect after a certain time of inactivity? Works fine with my d-link dl614+.

hmm i thought it would be possible to do a apple script to do this, but i couldn't see how.

Are you using wireless for you Apple? Mine was having trouble connecting to the wireless sometimes after sleeping. The Airport status menu would show me as disconnected and I'd have to reconnect manually. This was because it wasn't storing my WEP key until I connected manually and re-entered the key and told it to save. Haven't had any problems since.

If it only happens when your computer wakes up, it most likely not the router. (Are your Internet/WAN lights lit?) If you're not using wireless, are you using DHCP or a Static address?

the DHCP and static lights are lit when the machine wakes up, not too sure what the problem is.
