How two monitor ISP speed

Supposedly Comcast increased their speed in my area to 4 m. How can I veryify this? How can I find my network speed? Apologies if this is FAQ--did do a search for this query but no avail. THanks.

How about a tool showing the current transfer rate in the menu bar?

Wow, you guys have fast internet connections. Even in my office, which has a 10T LAN (sucks, I know) I get about 1 Mbps, on a good day .
