Hurry, take a screenshot!

Wow. How I wish the biggest concern in my life was when my post count can be used to make funny IRC words like "1337" and focus all my attention on taking a screenshot of it to show everyone else. What I wouldn't give to be young and careless again.

Haha, smart-one, if only. My biggest concern in life right now is to get my website up. That and land a fakie kickflip. Grr!

No really though: why is it that every thread I start somehow turns against me and I end up closing, deleting, or screaming a lot?
 
I guess i'll think of it like this: "If we were all cats, and I was a retarded cat...what would that make everybody else? Would they be normal cats or the kind of cats that sit in windows all day looking out at people get into and out of their cars. Or maybe everybody else would be the semi-bold type cat that likes to chase after birds in the backyard of an old-folks home.

Either way I've realized the stupid-ness (is that a word?) of this thread and I therefore ask that a moderator remove it at once.

I was just giving you a hard time. I just couldn't imagine focusing on my post count to the point of knowing when its going to turn a certain number. Honestly, when this forum theme is running, I have no idea what my post count is.
 
living in calif, bottled water is the only kind i drink. the stuff out of the faucett makes me sick to my stomach after a few days. i actually take my own big bottles to the water store and fill them up. six 3 gallon bottles will last the 2 of us about 3-4 weeks under normal conditions. We primarily use it for coffee, ice, occassional cooking and we keep a gallon jug in the fridge for drinking. oh, and i occasionally drink a glass of it to wash down my tylenol after i get a headache from dealing with moderating silliness. :D

so anyway, what is the meaning of 1337 anyway? this is obviously from an internet culture i don't participate in.
 
1337 is another way to write l33t which is another way to write elite.

Actually it's a lot more than simply writing on IRC or AIM: it's code. Back in the good old days of basic programming there was simpler forms of HEX and such that people liked to mess around with. Hackers (as their now known) would create an alphabet out of numbers to translate simple coded messages, I don't know it all but it's somewhat as follows:

H- 10

K- 5
L- 1

O- 0
P- 9
Q- 8

S- 2
T- 7
U- 22
V- 11
W- 111

Y-

Quite fun really. But since this "language" was so unpopular most of it has been forgotten or just all together ignored, so we substitute signs for the letters we've forgotten.

Not really based on hex, more like based around it, not on it.
