I cannot install anything

I literally cannot install anything. For example I download the adobe flash installer and when I open the .dmg file i get to the point where it says choose Macintosh HD and then install. I click on Macintosh HD and then install and it doesn't do anything. I also cannot install from a cd/dvd. I do regular updates and am using OS X 10.6.2. I also reinstalled OS X with no help, used Pacifist and got an error 60008 when I try to export any file from cd 1.

Does the installer crash or does it just freeze?

Do you have permission to install things (meaning are you using the admin account to install stuff?)?

Have you tried repairing disc permissions?
