Some people have recommended adding a "$" character (without the quotes) before entering the encryption key. Try that and see if it works for you.

OK, I misunderstood what you wanted done. You want to apply security to your wireless router so that only you have the access.

The best place to look is in the manual for your wireless router. If you don't have a manual for it, you can download a manual for your particular Linksys router. In there you will find out all you need for configuring your router's security features.

I recommend using the highest encryption method that is possible by the oldes wireless card you have. The best right now is WPA2 encryption, but if your card only supports WEP, then you have to configure it to use WEP for encryption.
