I need to load tiger 10.4.6 on a G4

not loading the software, I don't have the system CD I got a burned copy from my supervisor at work. Currently the system won't let me upgrade. what am I doing wrong I'm a novice with a PC but I don't know Jac when it come to loading a MAc... Help me please my son is having a heart attack. It's for him.

MacOS X 10.4 ships on a DVD, not a CD. It sounds like your boss may have tried to copy a System Restore disc from another computer. That will not work. System Restore discs work only with the specific model computer that they shipped with [with rare exception].

Tell me this:
  • What happens when you insert the disc into the computer?
  • Can your computer boot from the disc?
  • Does your computer recognize the disc?
 
Here's an idea - instead of stealing 10.4.6, why not actually pay for the software and get a legal copy that will work with no issues. :)

In my previous post, I told you that you cannot use the System Restore disc from one model Mac to install the OS onto a different model. This is a fact that no one on this forum has no control over. Your son's medical condition notwithstanding.
