wicky
play thing
Just installed OSx 10.3.3 at work, and it flakey as hell. So much so that my boss (honestly) want's to return to using OS9.... and of course, wants me to as well!
Although I'm getting pretty wound up by it, I'm fairly convinced that it's down to a bad installation... the guy who installed it did so over the top of the old system, rather than flattening the H/D first. I know that this "can" be ok, but it's being very shakey, and it's the only explanation that makes any kind of sense.
I want to backup his system as it is now and reinstall, before the loss of faith becomes a permanent fixture. The problem is, if it doesn't work correctly I need to be able to return his machine to OS9, which was preserved during the Panther installation.
Any ideas how best to approach this? Can I just grab the lot and copy to an external H/D, or do I need something like Carbon Copier? Is that the best app for the job? Norton? What are the alternatives? Has any body got any advice?
cheers
