I want Safari NOW.

I restarted and it's ok. Not what i was expeting. :( However it's freaking fast on our company site which i have a direct connection to.

oh well. It's only beta.
 
Just started using it. No sign of tabbed browsing and it has the same bug the pre-December 20th build of Chimera had where the live news updates on http://news.bbc.co.uk/ can mess up the page when you scroll. It's only a beta though so it looks promising!

Had a problem with Safari freezing up. The window was active, but all my Dock icons were inactive then could not create new window. However quitting and restarting seemed to fix that.

However, I cannot log into my secure work email site (uses RC4-128bit connection). Explorer does OK, but Safari refuses to establish a secure connection.

Has anyone else seen this with secure sites?

Definitely, most definitely, this is the browser I'm gonna use until OmniWeb 5 arrives. Steve has me, it seems.
 
Nah the browser wars has gone worse today ... chimera, safari and the exploiter or otehr browser ppl.

with chimera and safari. i think its all gettin better.. i believe these 2 apps will be the leaders in a few months as long as there is sufficient development (cause obviously they still have a long way to go..)!!!
 
Guess we'll need a poll. But please NOT in the first week of this beta. Let's all test it for a while. I'm soooooooooo glad this _doesn't_ use the mozilla engine but the konqueror engine. Maybe EdX will jump on _this_ one? :)
 
I'm giving it a few days and we'll see how i feel about it then. Sometimes it's good sometimes it's not. And it is a BETA but so is Chimera ;)

hopefully safari gets better. i like the look. i think there are some behavior problems with flash swf embedded on pages. as i've tested with others - omniweb, navigator, chimera, and safari doesn't like linked style sheets. only works on ie. what's up with that?
 
linked stylesheets work fine on my pages. as expected. http://story.ch for example. (i.e. how the menus appear different from links in the text.)

care to share the URL that doesn't work?
