iBook 14" Batteries

Hi everyone,
We are a small family run company selling refurbished macs in Vermont. I was hoping someone might shed some light on where we could look for used 14" iBook batteries. We have used ebay with a modicum of success.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Apart of Ebay, second hand places such Goodwill physical stores or shopgoodwill.com or Craigslist are where I've seen them occasionally.

Why look for used ones when new ones are available? Used batteries mean hassle. If you want to sell the refurbished machines, I'd sell them with the batteries they come with with the option of adding a new battery. Used batteries are just that: used. If they're over a year old, you don't know whether they'll fail in 1, 3, 6, 12 or - if the customers (and you) are very lucky - 18 months, you only know they _will_ fail rather sooner than later. Buying new means at least some kind of warranty for a year.

There is merit in what you say and worth close consideration. The idea of
selling the refurbished laptop with the original, now defunct, battery does
conflict with the notion we're selling machines that are refurbished. Perhaps
there would be a way to better qualify and identify a more finely tuned mission
statement. We do offer optional software at an additional cost. However, it
might be harder to warm up to the idea charging extra for a piece of hardware.

Thanks for your kind, informative post!
