Ok I purchased my ibook g3 clamshell 366 of ebay. I have two issues but i will just post the 1st one before moving on to problem number two (which is an os install issue). My ibook can boot up fine but if i shut it down or have to force the power off (hold down the power button for several seconds) it wont bring the boot screen back up unless go thru reseting the power management process. Ive tried zapping the pram but i still have the same problem. I have to keep reseting the pmu in order to get to the boot screen. I should point out that when if dont get the boot screen i still get the start up 'chime' and the cdrom will eject. Any sugestions on how i can resolve this?

You may have some bad RAM in there. Shut down your iBook and then remove the keyboard and look below, you'll see a memory slot and if it has memory in it, remove it and try booting up again. After removing RAM, it may be necessary to reset the PMU or "zap" the PRAM in order to get the normal behavior back.

NOTE: the the keyboard has a couple of latches within the top row of keys and a "lock" in the center. The lock may not be locked, but if the keyboard doesn't come out easily, try turning the lock and watch closely -- you'll be able to see if it's locked or not.
