Ok I purchased my ibook g3 clamshell lmt edition graphite 366 (only 1 usb no firewire or dvd)of ebay . I have two issues with it but i will just post the 1st one before moving on to problem number two (which is an os install issue). My ibook can boot up fine but if i shut it down (normally from OS X) or have to force the power off (hold down the power button for several seconds) it wont bring the boot screen back up unless go thru reseting the power management process. Ive tried zapping the pram but i still have the same problem. I have to keep reseting the pmu in order to get to the boot screen. I should point out that when if dont get the boot screen i still get the start up 'chime' and the cdrom will function (i.e. will eject or whirl if a cd is present). Any sugestions on how i can resolve this?

It seems that the iBooks retain the PRAM battery within the battery that charges the iBook. If that goes bad within a battery that still charges the system, you might need to buy a new battery for the iBook. Some Macs won't boot with a failed PRAM battery if you turn them off (my Motorola StarMax 4000 Mac clone experiences this issue as well when the PRAM battery is dead).

You might want to check the following link as they have one you would need:
