Hello
I received an error message after turning on my Ibook Clamshell that read type "mac-boot" or shut-down....I could not get it to boot up....I booted it with the os9 install disk and erased the existing os9 and re-loaded os9...when I re-statrted the same message came up....I went into the disk utilities and there were no problems....I tried holding the alt key at startup and clicked on the c drive and then the arrow and it takes me back to the error screen....any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Tony

What it means is that you need to reset your Mac's basic settings called parameter RAM (PRAM) and Open Firmware.

If this happens every time you turn on your computer, reset the computer's parameter RAM (PRAM).

Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

If the message still appears after you reset PRAM, reset the Open Firmware settings:
Instead of typing "mac-boot" at the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-nvram
Press Return.
At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-all
Press Return.

Example
0 > reset-nvram
Press Return
0 > reset-all
Press Return

The reset-all command should restart your Mac. If so, you have successfully reset the Open Firmware settings.
