Hello

I've been using apple since they were 11mhz (still works), but having a problem with an i-book,crashes after a few muniutes, mouse moves all else locked, have to reboot. have removed extra RAM and reformatted (low level/installed (10.4), then updated, a number of times (4..ouch !))..currently not even getting to desktop (blue screen & sometimes flashes on left of screen). When it does get to desktop, tech tool/disk warrior and disk first aid all report no problems at all, hardware or drive related. I have a hunch it must be the HD, but wondering if others have walked this way. Reset Pram too.

thnx

Felix

Sounds more like a logic board problem to me. :( If you run Disk Utility from the OS X 10.4 install DVD and the S.M.A.R.T. value is "verified" and DU does not detect any errors it is unlikely your problems are drive related. If you still have the hardware test CD/DVD that came with your iBook. boot from it and run the hardware tests. It is not unusual for hardware issues to be missed in a single test cycle so repeat the hardware tests several times.

By-the-way, the factory installed RAM is not invulnerable to failure, so be sure and run the RAM tests while you are at it. Those should be run at least five times.
