ibook external display problems...

I recently purchased a 12 inch 800mhz ibook and I want to hook it up to my external 19 inch LCD.

I noticed that the highest res on my ibook is 1024 x 768, but the native res on my LCD is 1280 x 1024.

Is there some kind of way to make my ibook put out 1280 x 1024 res to my LCD?
 
No, the highest resolution the iBook will support is 1024x768, and unlike the powerbook, the iBook doesn't run the extra display as a separate display, but as a mirror of your main display.
