Ibook G4 keyboard randomly stops working

Hi. If anyone has had this problem, perhaps you can share your solution?

I have an ibook G4 (MAC OSX 10.4.8). I use Firefox as my internet browser. I tend to leave my computer running all the time, but in "sleep" mode. Lately when I am working Gmail/google - usually after I leave gmail alone for a while to open a new window or type in Word etc - I come back and find nothing I type shows up. If I shut the window and open a new one the keyboard works fine, but besides being an annoying problem Im worried that my keyboard is giving out. Ive never had this problem before and Ive had this computer since May 2005. Is this just an issue with Gmail, or do I need to update Firefox, or is this a keyboard problem?

I don't think it is an issue with your keyboard. It is an issue with OS X. I have similar recurring problems like that on my old iMac when browsing. The cursor stops responding properly, and I can't type in text boxes. In addition, the driver for my keyboard will cut out at some point every day and will not come back on short of a restart. (Everyone with this particular keyboard has the same problem.)

Hope Apple fixes this real soon.
