After running Norton Disk Doctor in OS 9, all my information has seemed to disappear in OS X (10.1.5). Any ideas?
 
Norton was your first mistake.

What information was lost? Do you mean that your OSX drive is now blank? You need to give more details...
 
I Appologize right now if there is anyone working for Symantec here...

But I saw Norton Disk Doctor destroying catalogs and valuables info
on so many Mac that I have to say it out loud...(its done)

Product like DiskWarrior will assist you good.
I am not trying to do publicity here but DiskWarrior saved my ass
more than twice. when you purchase the CD it includes a very good
tool to defragment your drive called "Optimizer" wich is slower but
so much better than "SpeedDisk" that require the job of DiskDoctor
way too often and that one still do not understand the Mac structure.
BTW dont worry that DiskWarrior is still sold as a OS 9 software
boot from the CD and it will work beautifully on any HFS+ drives

And to save a HD there is a new tool on the market called Drive 10
from Micromat. It also do an amazing job rescuing drives that been damaged
(I am still testing Drive10 and some feedback from users would be appreciated)

this happened to a friend of mine (maybe) but what he did was mess around with the users folder (i think they all got merged into one folder or something like that) so maybe this will help
