Hey, I'm at work right now and wanted to cut a piece of mylar as a screen protector, but don't have it with me to measure the size. Anyone know where I could find it or measure for me? It's a 12.1"! Thanx!!!
Thanx bud, but I ended up doing it at home anyway. The measurement is 9.75x7.375in. Cut a piece of clear plastic like mylar with an extra 1/16 of an inch to wedge into the sides and it is a really nice fit. Don't ever buy those sheets from Macally the are like 3/16" too small and have a sticky edge that looks terrible stuck to a LCD. Make your own for sure!
My experiment didn't work exactly as I thought it would. It doesn't stay in when you close the lid. Guess why they have glue on the Macally sheets. That still sucks though...
I have the 14" iBook, and I haven't had problems with marking on the screen... If anything, it's the oil from my hands getting on the palm rests in front of the keyboard.
I don't know if you wanna go this route, but when I cut my own overlays for my iBook, I just use two pieces ofclear Tessa packaging tape to adhere the overlay to the screen...it looks a little ghetto, but it holds.

That is pretty ghetto, but ghetto is usually the way to go.
-Isn't that like taking blue saran wrap to your car's headlights to give it that blue lighting effect. Rather than buying the little bit more priced blue bulb.
