iBook not accepting CD-R Help!

I've borrowed a g4 12" iBook and I've burned some cds with text files on, but everytime I put them in the slot the iBook ejects them (after a lot of noise).

They work fine in both of my iMacs

Any ideas?

I really need to use it BTW!

Do other CDs work?

Another person was having a simmilar problem, and they found

Certain burned media doesn't play well with the iBook. Because CD burning involves altering the dye on a CD-R, they aren't as readable by some players as CDs stamped from a mass production CD assembly

I would try opening the CDs on another computer, with a different model CD drive.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the response. Teh cds worked fine in the other iMacs. I just tried a dvd and that worked so I tried the cd again and that worked this time. Go figure!

It's new, so maybe it was just being tempramental on first try.

I actually came back here to ask the thread to be deleted as it seems my 'problem' was just a temporary glitch. I'll let the mods decide, but thanks again anyway

We don't just delete such threads. And there's no need to alert us about it, either. ... We'll just let it "sink in". I'm glad it works now.
