iBook problems connecting to trusted network (sometimes)

I have a wireless network in my home. Two G3 macs and a G4 all connected to my DSL via a D-Link Dl-624 wireless router. Everything was working fine for the last several months. Then I bought a new G4 iBook. Upon setup, it recognized my wireless network and joined it flawlessly. I do not have WEP enabled. The following day, when I turned on the iBook, instead of just connecting to the network, it asked if I wanted to joing the trusted network. I said yes, and it said it could not join.

Turning off the router and modem, then turning them back on FIXED the problem. Everybody was on the network and life was good. However, it seems that every time I start up the iBook now, I have to go through this resetting routine. The other computers seemd to be OK, although this morning my son told me he got the same message on his G4. I disconnected the cable and router, reconnected them and let the connection re-establish, and he was back in business.

Any clue how I can fix this extremely annoying problem? I'm no wireless Einstein.

Thanks!!

Have you actually tried logging into your wireless router? Usually something like 192.168.1.1 or whatever it says in your owner's manual.

1) The default setup is completely basic and is completely securityless but still needs to be configured to work properly
2) Make sure that none of your computers are trying to share "ad-hoc"
3) Make sure all network server services are turned OFF on the new iBook for testing purposes
4) Make sure that the router is setup to serve both 802.11b and 802.11g (11Mbps and 54Mbps respectively) and not just one or the other if you have a mixed environment
5) Use the Help system located on the router to figure the rest out
