iBook reads DVDS not CD's - used to read both. whats changed? nowt? why is it doing that? i don't know. sorry to crash in and ask...but all help appreciated

From what I have read, it's probably a hardware problem. If you have Applecare, use it. Otherwise, you might have to get a new drive

hi there sorry if this is in the wrong section but i dont know how to set this thing up to actually ask a question to everyone but i hope this helps.
I have just recently purchased the new black macbook and what i want to know is... as i am going to be a traveller of many countries i want to know what i can do to once i have already changed the setting more than 4 times on the regions setter for the dvd player, is there any way of being able to have it so that i can change it as much as i like or am i limited to the 4 times if so then i am screwed...
If anyone has any possible solutions this would be extremely helpfull

Many thanks in advance..

Thanks heaps for that eric2006 am in the process of doing this will let you know if i have any problems getting this set up.
Thanks once again...

Stoffa,
Just so you know, the last region code you change your drive to, is what it will stay at. There is no "resetting" or changing that drive back, you would need to replace it in order to change it. So becareful and try to keep track. Yes, use the VLC player.
