iBook screen during DVD playback

I have a 14" iBook which I bought with OS 10.1 on it last year. Under OS 10.1 when I played a DVD through to my TV the iBook screen would switch off. I liked this in that it conserved battery power and the longevity of the screen's life.

Since I upgraded to OS 10.2 this does not happen. The screen just stays on during TV playback.

Does anyone know how I can make it as it was, turning the screen off when I play a DVD through to the TV?

You can just turn the brightness down all the way, via the F1 key. At least, that's where the key is on my 14" iBook I bought nary 6 months ago. It may have changed when they revamped the iBook line.
