Previously, I posted regarding my iBook losing its display. I haven't found a solution, but I've thought of more details and I'm hoping somebody can help.
I recently used the firmware "hack" at http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html, which by this point seems to be worked out well enough not to cause any problems, but I think it's possible that Screen Spanning Doctor did something to my firmware.
I ran the iBook hardware test, which says that everything is fine; I would think that if a chip on the logic board had a problem, it would be detected, and the fix posted at http://www.coreyarnold.org/ibook/ for a the specific logic board problem didn't help. But I guess it's possible that a hardware issue could be missed.
Resetting PRAM, NVRAM, and the PMU don't seem to help.
Is there a way to restore the firmware to its factory settings? If it's a firmware issue caused by the display "hack," I'm hoping that would fix everything.
Any other thoughts? I already checked the RAM, it's fine.
