Hello,

My iCal on OS X doesn't show the correct date...

It only does when I click on it (from the Dock) and then it displays an arror underneath it and it displays the correct date.

How do I have it display the correct date, as soon as OS X starts?

Thanks!

Put it in your Startup Items, and tick the 'Hide' box. This will launch it when you log in, and then hide it leaving the dock icon with the correct date. I don't know of any way to keep it up to date without actually launching it.

I don't remember the name, but if you go to versiontracker.com, there's a freeware app that will update the iCal to the correct date as soon as you restart from sleep pr have otherwise put the OS to bed. Search for iCal and you should find it.

steven_lufc,

Where are the "Start Items" located? Also where is the "Hide" button?

I am sorry but I am a Mac OS X dummy...

Thanks,

system preferences > accounts >

Select your account and select the Startup items tab on the right. Click on the '+' button and browse your apps until you select iCal. Tick the 'hide' box next to iCal. Restart to see it work. OSX should launch iCal, and then hide the app, leaving the correct date in the dock.
