iceBook optical drives

hey everyone... i have a friend at school who wants to sell his iceBook to me for only $400. I think it's a really good deal, but one thing he mentioned is that the DVD drive is damaged. How hard is it to repair something like that, or replace the drive completely for something else. Where can I buy internal iceBook drives?

Wow, thats a deal man. Scoop that thing up and then take it to an Apple Store or send it back to Apple to have it repaired. It's going to still be under it's 1 year warranty, so unless he did something stupid and snapped the drive off or something it should be covered. If it's not covered, it should cost a max of $200 to fix.

I'd strongly suggest having Apple fix it, so you know it's done right. Optical drives are touchy if you don't know what you're doing.
