iChat Service in Tiger Server

When I enable the iChat service -- users do not seem to be able to log on - they get stuck at the connection phase and go no farther. Log shows nothing, but I do eventually show a connection. the required ports are open in the firewall for outside access, but even clients behind the firewall are unable to connect..

Is there a mod in /etc/jabber/jabber.xml I need to perform? Or perhaps a howto?

You need to connect to the "allowed domain" with the user, which by default uses "servername.local" try that in the Jabber account settings on the clients and you should be able to log in.
