I have both of my AIM and Google accounts set up on iChat so I can use both of them. I've been doing this for about a year now without any problems.
However, about a couple weeks ago, I suddenly starting getting all of these buddy requests on the Google setup from all of my buddies who are on my AIM buddy list. If I declined the invite, I would just get another invite from that same buddy about 10 or 20 minutes later.
And then when I logged off of the Google setup for a while and then logged back in later, I would get a whole bunch of buddy requests at once. Instead of accepting or declining these invites, I simply click the "x" in the window whenever a buddy invite pops up. But then their name appears in my Google window's buddy list below the "offline" category and are all listed as "unauthorized."
This all stopped a week ago, but today I've been getting the occasional buddy request pop up again. I worry that this is some sort of virus where someone has hacked into my iChat and using pop ups to get me to open up my mac to them.
But I also wonder if this is just some sort of iChat error, because I registered for AIM by using my Google email address as my AIM username (AIM allows this), so I'm wondering if there is a technical error where Google is getting itself mixed up with AIM somehow.
