I'd like a server machine please

toast

Gone !
I have a friend on PC who allows me to connect to his MP3 hard drive using my FTP client.

How can I do the same on my G3/500 iMac, using OSX.1.5 ?

Not sure I was understood...

I'd like to share MY Mac like he shares his PC.
I'd like to be a server just as he is for me, so that he can connect at home to download some files of mine.

I know Fetch (in fact I know how to be a FTP customer/client), but I don't know how I can change my Mac to a FTP server for others to be client.

I hope I'm clear now, sorry for being messy sometimes,
and thanx testuser :),

Do I need to say THANK YOU A LOT and that I'm really impressed ?

I won't use jchirac, maybe gbush or mthatcher… who knows :D.

But the rest of your post is in my bookmarks, thanx again for such valuable information testuser !

Now is there a program that will let me do this simply ? And how do I disable the FTP ? Just uncheck the FTP acces in SysPrefs ?

Thanx for answers,

Thanx for answers,

How much simpler can it get--it's just one mouse click; you'll have to wait for mind reading computers to do away with this one mouse click. Same way. Yes.

might i suggest hotline? (is it also pc?) anyways you can easly become your own server. you can setup accounts so only select people can log in. and also you don't have to have the server up 24/7 jsut tell the person who's on that they have to get off and then you can leave.

i actually havn't used it too much but i figured it would be a lot easer

i think the address is www.bigredh.com

or if that don't work try versiontracker
