IDVD Won't Burn

As everyone here I am frustrated.
G4 10.4.3
CPU Speed: 867 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
Memory: 768 MB
Bus Speed: 133 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.5.3f2

I am trying to burn a DVD using IDVD. I have created a 15 minute short in Final Cut Express HD, convert it to QuickTime, then I drag it into IDVD to burn. I have done this many times before with no problems.

The burning goes through stages 1-3, but breaks down just when it starts to burn. The error is Kern "Protection Failure" which also has popped up a few times when my AOL crashes.

Please help me. I'm going insane!!

I had this on my G4 Digital Audio. I had to install a seperate HD and install Panther, other HD had insufficient space for iDVD in the System. Did that, installed iDVD3 and found that an external DVD drive wouldn't work, so purchased a new Superdrive and installed that, then that wouldn't burn, until I down loaded Patchburn. The 'ABout this Mac' showed the DVD drive, but under the burn part it listed as not supported. Once Patchburn was loaded it all worked fine and I am burning my Epics perfectly.

Don't know if this is your problem, but worth a try.
