IE Win and JPG colors - WTF?

HateEternal

Mac Metal Head
How come in IE for Win JPG colors are not the same as in other browsers, for example(see attachment)

In all other browsers it looks nice, both the title and the rounded corner, even IE Mac, IE for Win the colors are wrong.

Dunno if this helps, but there is a slight colour difference for basically everything from mac to windows vise visor. Colours on Mac are more brighter compared to Windows, meaning if you want somethign lighter to appear on windows you must do it slightly lighter from mac.

But i have'nt noticed it .. ? anyone else ?

That is true, but the screen shot I posted showed how it looked in FireFox for Win and IE for Win at the same time. It looks great in firefox and like crap in IE.

Make sure you don't have ColorSync turned on in IE. It's in the preference somewhere... in the appearance, display, or something like that. Supposedly, it'll make all the colors show up like they would on a PC, but it generally just makes everything darker. It's a feature, not a bug. *shrugs*

What program did you use for exporting the image, and what settings?

Its weird, it works fine now, I don't remember changing anything. I used photoshop to export the image. what do you mean by settings?

I've noticed JPGs look different than GIFs, even when the exact same color is used in Photoshop. I never saw any options to include a color profile while using Photoshop's Save for Web window.

You choose the color profile when you create the document in PS. When exporting a JPG, try unchecking 'optimized' in the Save for Web box...that might help out a bit.

As far as option, that's why I use Fireworks for most of my web graphics. Better export system with more options, not to mention a far superior handling of PNG images.
