iEmulator

iEmulator is a "PC emulator" for 10.3.0 onwards. It costs $23.95, but you need to have your own copy of Windows. It is based on QEMU and seems to run at a reasonable speed, judging by movie files on the site, but they are quoting a speed of 200 MHz - 500 MHz (Pentium) equivalent when using a 1.5 GHz PowerBook. Things seem better with a G5.

This is actually the same speed range VPC quotes. So, iEmulator should be as fast as VPC and cost only a quarter of it?
Anyone willing to test it? :)

I've briefly dabbled with qemu and it's faster than bochs, which is nice. I don't know how it compares to VPC, since I don't have that installed on my machine.

Oh nuts, its CherryOS all over again.

Anyone else notice the similarities? The testimonials? The fact the only real information on the site is in the form of movie files?

Don't get sucked in guys. Its a little Hawaiian company trying to sell their video serving software and they need to prove it under testing by setting up a site with lots of videos and trying to draw people in. If they do have a product at all it will be a repackaged version of QEMU, which they have no right to sell.

The site is also registered under a more or less non-existant company, BangStudios.

Forget it guys. It's another prank from teh CherryOS jerks.

I've actually used iemulator on a Quicksilver G4 933. It works but is sloooow.... VPC has nothing to worry about at this point.
