If Control-m, d, t or u don't work for you from the terminal...

Despite the pico help saying Control-U or F10 is paste (or un-kut - gotta love these keystroke commands), I could not paste in pico. I could select text, cut text, cut lines... but Control-U or F10 will not paste. I tried this from terminal and even from terminals under XDarwin (not sure if they are the same), but no luck. I thought I was going nuts.

Finally, I figured it out. Under System Preferences - Keyboard - Full Keyboard Access, there is a default option of a keyboard shortcut "Control U" for "Utility Window Palette." Once I changed this to something else, function keys... I can now paste in pico. (there are also m for menu bar, d for dock, and t for toolbar).

These seem to be global keyboard shortcuts, and seem to run even with Full Keyboard Access turned off. I did a lot of goofing around with my preferences so I'm not certain these were the defaults. Basically, OS X is not smart enough to know you are working in a terminal or anywhere else. If you really need these and/or any shortcuts, I'd use QuicKeys for OS X which can be told - "run this only in this application(s), the finder or everywhere."

Sad thing is, I wasn't so sure wanted to use pico in the first place.
