I just finished editing the Waterfest 2002 video. For those of you who don't know, Waterfest is a huge Audi / Volkswagen gathering on the east coast.

I went to WA and shot the Crystal Mountain Cruise and the Waterwagens show last weekend. I think the Cruise video is going to be the most kick ass thing I've ever done

man, i am uber jealous. i wish i could go-- maybe next year. what kind of car do you have? i've got a 2k1 GTI 1.8T (AWD turbo). not many mods-- i'm getting it chipped as soon as my local UP or GIAC distributer gets things working... whoever's ready first is the chip i'm going with ^_~.
i couldn't play the video because the machine i'm on now (at work) only has QT5 installed and i can't install 6. i'll check it out when i get home.

Nice vid...excellent choice of audio track. I really like how you pay attention to things like dynamics. Particularly using your audio track to enhance the feel of the footage at a given point. So many people disregard this simple, yet extremely effective idea.

Further, your use of effects is timely and does not detract from the movie itself. Often, you'll find movies with over the top effects, or effects used in the wrong way/area. For your subject, it worked nice.

I am interested to know some things about the shoot. What format did you shoot in? DV I am guessing due to the lack of interlacing, but I could be wrong. What did you use to edit it all together? FCP, iMovie, Premiere?

Anyway, nice....

I have a Corrado SLC, 2 Cabriolets, a 1990 Jetta TDI [swapped from a 2001 New Beetle] and a bunch of A2 Jettas. [9 vws all together]

Vard
Final Cut Pro 3. Shot it on a Sony Digital 8 camera. I used an XL1 for the waterwagens / crystal mountain cruise video, so it should look uber-good.

i'm not a vw fan, but..... wow.. i'm speechless. that was freakin' awesome. it gets a 10 for totally bad ass!!
