Illustrator 10 to Flash MX

Howdy
What's the best way to get files from Illustrator to Flash? I've been using export:swf but then in Flash each symbol in illustrator is a graphic in the library. And if i try to break my image apart it all turns to crap.

I was just wondering if anyone knew a simple, easy way to get things from illustrator to flash?

Thanks

Dear All,

A few things spring to mind:

1. Save as a EPS version 5.5 and import in to Flash?

2. Do a direct "Copy" from one app, "Paste" into another?

3. Have you tried Adobe LiveMotion?

4. Have you tried Macromedia FreeHand?

Apart from that, maybe reading the manual, no disrepect intented.

Hope it helps.

I've tried lots of things and lately (maybe after the illustrator updates) the exporting as swf, then breaking apart) seems to work pretty good.

Havn't tried freehand though. Might be something to look into.

save for web -> .jpg. import jpg. simple (unless you need text, which you can do in MX anyways...)

the export in illustrator > flash works really well for me... never had any problems with it. The new illustrator for X doesn't support "auto convert to symbols" probably because sometimes you'd get a library full of 1,000+ images and they just left it out... who knows...

LiveMotion sucks eggs compared to FlashMX, which is a fully functional OOP environment at this point, and I'm thinking they're going to transplant the Director engine over to Flash pretty soon so you can author shockwave from Flash because more people are using Flash.

Freehand obviously works wonders for Flash as they're both Macromedia so editing between the two is smooooth... as I don't use Freehand as my default illustration app I don't have this luxury but if you're just getting into both, one might try Macromedia studio...

As far as the previous cut/paste, save as EPS, etc... totally old school and not neccessary with Illus10 and FlashMX... they play very nicely together...
