I'm confused (Remote Desktop)

I thought that port 3283, and VNC, had to be open to use ARD. I have forwarded my router and am able to connect remotely from my laptop to my iMac at home, but not been able to copy files back and forth. I can read mail, surf, etc. HERE is the wierd thing; when I checked the settings in System Preferences/Sharing/Firewall it says that port 3238, not 3283 has to be open. Is that a typo, or has anyone seen this before? This has been really frustrating to deal with.

Hm. I've no idea, but you could open one for one test, the other for the next and find out this way which is the right one.

The message you're seeing is wrong. Port 3283 has to be open along with 5900.
