iMac 400 and osX performance

Greetings,

i've installed Jaguar on my iMac 400. It looks really cool and has a lot of nice features, but i can't help feeling it's a bit slower to use on a daily basis when compared to os9.
Does anyone know any tips that can help me improve my osX performance?
I currently have 512RAM installed, so I think it should be faster...

I am using a B&W with 256megs of ram ~~350mhz ..... I run jaguar and it is great for daily things like web surfing and email......... I also have an ibook 500 with 512 ram ....and both of these machine seem to run about the same ( haven't run any bench marks tho.....

The main problem with iMacs are the the "pci" video card... Sluggynesh usually is with GUI wich should be hardware accelerated... IF you have a RADEON i suggest this : PCI Extream
